Hello! I wanted to let you all know that I got a new bicycle! My mom and dad bought it for me today at a store across the street from the park where they have the ferris wheel. I like to ride it up and down the alley by our house.

Last night my dad and I were having running races in the alley, and all sorts of kids came out of their houses to join us. It was really fun. We played games and sang Christmas songs and it was really neat.

My dad took some pictures that we're putting on the blog. You can see Lily and me with our bikes, and an orchid flower that grows from a tree in our courtyard.

I hope everyone is good in Brockport. I miss you!

Hi Everyone. I heard about Maeve's birthday. It sounds like fun. I miss you all a lot. I am getting used to my new nanny. Sometimes she takes me down the street to the bakery and ice cream shop and buys me ice cream.

Yesterday my mom took me to an air-conditioned coffee shop and we did 6 pages of learning--math, writing, and hidden pictures. Sometimes it's nice to find air conditioning. My mom also surprised me by finding a big air conditioned play area in a mall with bumper cars, a train ride, and a real live playground just like back at home. So that was fun. Then we had pizza and it tasted pretty close to what we have at home.

Please write.

Hudson

Hello friends,

Sorry that I don't have any pictures this time, but my mom and dad are still trying to get the internet figured out. I wanted to let you know that I'm starting to like Vietnamese food, especially the fried spring rolls and the grilled meat that we can buy at little food stalls along the street.

I went riding on a motorcycle. In Vietnam, they use them as taxis, and they call them "xe om" (which is pronounced "say ohm"). I sat between the driver and my dad, and I was kind of scared at first, but then it was fun. I think I'll do it again sometime.

Please feel free to respond to my blog, or else you can e-mail me at my dad's e-mail address: mrice@sjfc.edu

Some people said that they couldn't post comments on my blog. I think my dad fixed it so that now you can write back to me!

Hi Everyone,

I had a fun day today. Because we can't move into our house until tomorrow, my mom and dad decided that we would be tourists, and go around seeing new things. We went on a boat tour this morning to a place where they have a floating market. All of the boats crowd together and sell fruits and vegetables. Some of the boats even have faces painted on them.

After I saw the floating market, our boat took us to an orchard, where I saw all kinds of trees. I saw a banana tree, and was surprised because the bananas point upward instead of downward when they are on the tree. The orchard also had a monkey, an alligator, and some fish. The owners gave us some mango, papaya, and jackfruit to eat, and some tea to drink. In their house I saw a bed with a mosquito net over it. I'm glad my bedroom will have airconditioning, so I don't have to worry about mosquitoes at night!

I hope everyone is having fun in Brockport. I miss all of you.

Hudson

Hi everybody. We are staying a little longer at our hotel since we finally found a house to rent. But we have to wait 4 days for it to be ready. So we are pretending to be on vacation. We went to the Peoples' Park yesterday and rode on rides. We took a cyclo ride there, which is a cart attached to a motorcycle.

No one wears seat belts here.

I got a big balloon and it broke so we got another one.

Tomorrow we are going on a boat ride to see the floating markets.

Here are pictures of my new house and the cyclo ride.

Hi Everybody,

Sorry that I don't have any pictures today, but my mom and dad forgot to bring their cameras with them when we went out.

I had a lot of fun today. Our family called it "kids' day," and Lily and I got to choose what to do. We had breakfast on the roof again, and then we went to the water park. I went down some really big slides, played in a wave pool, and waded in the water for a long time. Then we went to lunch and I had french bread with butter and jelly, some noodles, and carrots. For dessert I got to eat ice cream. It was vanilla, with a heart shaped strawberry ice cream center. It was really good.

We went shopping at a couple of stores and I bought a huge red balloon that has Santa on it, and a kicking toy that the Vietnamese kids like to play with. It has feathers and round disks for weights, and you try to keep kicking it into the air. Then we rode on a cyclo back home, which is like a small motorcycle with a carriage behind it. It was super fun!

I've started talking to some of the kids here, and they are nice. But I miss all of my friends at home, too.

Hudson

Here I am at breakfast up on the rooftop. It's on our hotel. Today it's raining but still pretty hot. We looked at a lot of houses.

They had tiny hot dogs for breakfast!

Me and Lily are having fun in the hotel.

Dear Everybody,

Are you having a good time? Do you have your fans up yet? I see lots of neat stuff. Remember to check my blog. I see lots of boats and rivers. There's lots of different restaurants.

Hudson

I am holding up a dragon fruit, which is white with black seeds inside, sort of like a kiwi, and tiny bananas.
